Koi

One of my earliest Xtra-Dimensions pieces was from a photograph my friend Brian Metcalf took of his koi pond.

Although it had some of the patterns and dimensionality that I hoped to capture with this approach, there have been some refinements since then!

I experimented with a slightly different pattern and finish with another image from Brian’s pond:

Recently, Pam and Richard Winegar helped me extend my “koi series” by generously sharing their photograph of a koi pond at the Marie Selby Botanical Gardens in Sarasota, Florida.

Kevin Wellard has also shared his dramatic photograph “Being Koi,” taken at the Portland Japanese Garden.
